Just a couple sales worth mentioning...

1 - Sephora has an extra 20% off of sale items, and it is worth browsing over. I picked up ClickR Stop-Time Night Cream, which I have never used before, and I also purchased for the second time the Diamond Dust Skin Polisher - it is a serum that polishes skin, refines pores, and controls moisture (but I am not oily, still helps my skin), and I have been using for quite some time now.  I also use their Pearl Wash, which I absolutely love, and the Vanishing Mist, which has been very effective for me in controlling my problems with acne and pores. ClickR's products are, as they say, "naturally pure" and vegan.
It looks as though Sephora is no longer going to carry their products, which I'm disappointed about because
the reviews on their products are fantastic and the products are great. I hope they continue to sell and be successful. Anyways, both of the items I bought were $17.00 (originally $36 and $38), plus the additional 20% off.

2 - Laura Mercier is running 20% off of everything. I wish I needed something, ha ha, but I certainly do not. The next foundation on my list is Silk Crรจme, which is at the top of the highest rated foundations on the market and in the blogs and amongst the YouTube beauty vloggers. (But it will be a while since I just got Tarte's 12-hour Amazonian Clay foundation, and I use both fair and light, so it will be a while before I need foundation.). This is a wonderful opportunity, Laura Mercier is absolutely one of the greatest, most worthwhile,- and with that- the most expensive cosmetic lines, so discounts are always the best time to buy.

3 - Anthro has 30% off of all sale items. Absolutely worth the browse to see if there is anything you might want. Enough said.

4 - J.Crew has an additional 25% off of sale items.

5 - L'occitane has some really, really good stuff on sale. I have been wanting the Almond Shower Oil, and they doubled the size for $10 more. I did have to go ahead and get this - I couldn't pass up the opportunity. AND they had the Almond Tonic Body Oil for half off, but it was already sold out, and I am SO, SO disappointed. But I also know that sales happen all the time, and it won't be the last time. So, I will get it at some point, and it's at the top of my list of things, but I certainly don't HAVE to have it by any means.

That's all I have for you tonight. Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas Day and continues to have a blessed Christmas season (Christmas continues through Jan. 5).

Tarte, Ulta, Drugstore.com

Hey, peeps! Just saw some great deals going on!

My most recent but now most favorite makeup brand ever, Tarte, is doing their friends and family sale & everything is 30% off through Thursday 12/13! I love their 12-hour full coverage foundation! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE their 12-hour blushes, especially in Natural Beauty and Exposed, and I love their LipSurgence lip tint and the matte lip tint (best matte lip product I've used - Fiery looks amazing, every time I wear it or Exposed (yes, same name as the blush, but I like that because a) I like to match and b) it makes it easy that many things have the same name), I get TONS of compliments! Fiery is the perfect red matte lip!

Drugstore.com has 20% off all beauty products, and they have way more than just typical "drugstore" cosmetics. They have great skincare brands - including my favorite, LaRoche-Posay. They also have 100% Pure, dermalogica, Kinerase, and great hair products like PHYTO and Kerastase! And I don't buy stuff like that unless I can get a great discount! They also have Love & Toast, which has some of the greatest fragrances, and my absolute favorite is Juniper Gin.

Love & Toast Roller Perfume, Juniper Gin

And Ulta has 20% off of your entire purchase! They have most things that Sephora does, plus, they have "drugstore cosmetics," but they don't have as great of a "rewards" program and don't have as great value sets as Sephora, but they do more discounts more often than Sephora.

Just HAD to tell you about the deal I just scored.

So, I am always on the hunt for the best foundation that I have never tried, and I just recently started watching awesome beauty vloggers on YouTube, and I just love them. It's my new addiction. (I should do a post on my 5 or 10 favorite vloggers.) And they don't help my spending, but I do have self-control and can't blame it on them, of course, but they have LOTS of stuff and they just spend, spend, spend. Ha. Anyways, I was watching one or two of my faves, and they were using Jemma Kidd Light As Air foundation (who knows if it will be the best...). And you may be familiar with Jemma Kidd, she has a lower-end line at Target (and it isn't really that inexpensive), but she also has a higher-end line. So, I watched several reviews on it, and remembered it is sold on Bloom.com, and they have a 30% off coupon right now ( code : THANKYOU30 ), so I thought, okay, I think I'm going to go ahead and grab that! So, I go to the Bloom, and I see that all of the Jemma Kidd products are already on sale! I got a few of her brushes (great reviews), a kind of concealer/eye treatment, and a primer. And RoC Multi-Correxion Night Treatment (and I cannot rave enough about that product!) was discounted to $20 (reg. $25).
The total was $125, BUT I got 7 items (less than $20 average per item - and the cheapest thing regularly was $24 and the most expensive regularly was $50), 10 samples, I saved $105 from the 30% off and the already lower prices, THEN, get 10% back in "BloomDollars," and I got 7% back from eBates (total back : $20). I'm thinking if with the ebates and Bloom Dollars, I will just get another one of the RoC Multi-Correxion Night Treatments. For free. Awesome. That's over half off of everything. Spending $125 for what could have cost $285. Plus no shipping and no tax.

RetailMeNot and eBates

Especially with the holidays coming up, the BEST way - by far - to get a GREAT deal is to find one online! And the way to find a deal that you don't know about is www.RetailMeNot.com
I always, ALWAYS look on there before buying anything because even when I get an email from a store saying what special they are running - OR when I don't, RetailMeNot almost always has different deals to choose from. 9 times out of 10 I have found a super deal on their website. And people, Black Friday and Cyber Monday are coming up, and there are going to be some super online deals. Screw standing in line at midnight - I would never and have never, especially now. Although, I have set my alarm for 4 a.m., rolled over to my laptop, and made a purchase or two. In. My. Pajamas. From. The. Comforts. Of. My. Bed. And I know some people still like to go about the "old fashioned" way, but that is so not for me.

And I have talked about Lucky Rewards before and how you can get money back from purchases (no credit card, no interest, no commitments, etc.). I love it. Well, there is another website I just found out about, and I can't believe I didn't come across it before now. It's called www.ebates.com, and they seem to have more online stores to choose from AND eBates' rewards are SO much better than Lucky's! I never shop ANYWHERE without these! For example, if I spend $50 at Gap, I get $7 back. Because I just used both Lucky Rewards and eBates at the same time for a purchase. I haven't gotten a notification from either of them yet to let me know it went through - it takes a few days, but I'm pretty sure you can use both simultaneously. That's double the rewards! YEAH! (Sort-of-a-disclaimer : they only send you your rewards quarterly, and you have to have gotten $15, but they just roll over to the next quarter until you have $15 in rewards.

Have a great weekend!

20% off Sephora and Beauty.com

Sorry, I've been slacking... Actually, I've been filling all my free time watching and reading makeup reviews and... well, purchasing some makeup... I hadn't *really* bought any in a while, and well, I just went to town... Not literally, I did it all from home.

But Sephora is having 20% off - IF you are a VIB. So, chances are, you would already know about it if you were. And Beauty.com has 20% off, with only a couple exclusions. And they don't have everything Sephora has, but I got many things I was looking for. I tried a Murad tinted primer that helps refines pores and tarte 12-hour Full Coverage Foundation, and some of tarte's blushes. And other stuff. And I got a ton from Sephora, too.The code for Sephora is CELEBRATE, but if you aren't a VIB, I think they catch it and won't let you use it. And for Beauty.com, you don't need one.

While I'm on the subject of makeup, might I add that Bloom.com is majorly stepping it up, and they have added M.A.C (that's huge right there), Laura Mercier, Make Up For Ever, Urban Decay, and DIOR! I'm ridiculously excited. And they offer discounts from time to time, like 20% off, they offer "Bloom bucks," and they often increase. Usually, you get 10% back (towards your next or a future purchase), but they increase it to 20% and 30% at times. And I make sure to take advantage of it.

Ooh, I just went only Bloom.com, and got 30% off my next purchase. (Code - THANKYOU30)

That's it from me for now...

My Tip of the Day

I know a lot of people like to try out the higher end cosmetics before try them, but... There are sites like bloom.com, beauty.com, and beautybar.com that offer really good discounts, and not always on products that you might want, but there are plenty things that I buy on there. (And you can always return them! And you pay no tax, and most of the time, you get free shipping!)
I go back and forth on skincare, and I recently remembered how when I tried La Roche-Posay, how great it was, so I decided to go back to it (yes - even though I have other things to use), and I got a $10 off of $50 discount on drugstore.com (which is the same company as beauty.com.). And while I was at it, I am trying Philospohy's primer - which I have only heard raves about. Two products - would have been $50 - cost me $40 with no shipping and no tax! I saved myself at least $14!

And I almost hate saying all this because I love Cosmetic Market, and I really am about supporting local businesses... And I do! And if you want to go to the mall or Cosmetic Market or Sephora, by all means, do! I also like makeup and products I can only get at certain places without getting a discount. I just really know that it's worth the time and money to look online and at all your different options.

Stila on HauteLook (and my, uh, somewhat great return!)

Been away for a while, had some issues with the laptop, and it was in the shop.
... but here I am!

And, honestly, I'm not up on all my sales right now, I'm not sure what happened, but I got behind, and haven't gotten caught up. But I will.

However, today, on HauteLook (seriously, sign up - it is great), I bought some foundation from Stila. There isn't much to rave about on their "event"/sale today, but I had used this foundation before, and loved it, but that was a few years ago,... But seriously, I was in love with it. I felt like it cleared up my skin and had a nice, natural, medium-ish coverage. Anyways, for $15 + $5 for s/h, I thought it was worth trying. I'm in the market for foundation, and the last three I tried have been disappointing... It was worth the shot for over half off.
I thought about buying two, because it was still even cheaper than buying one, but I passed. This is the second time they have had it on HauteLook, so chances are, they will again. Plus, this foundation is being discontinued, Stila's website and Sephora no longer carry it, but you can get it different places online still, like Beauty.com, Bloom.com, Zappos.com... so, if it goes well (like I remember), I will have another chance to get it at a discounted price.

And you might be thinking, why try it if it is discontinued? Or, it probably isn't a great product if they are getting rid of it. I watched Benefit get rid of plenty of good products while I worked for them, they re-formuate all kinds of products, and many times, not for the better. I loved it, and my opinion is worth it. :) Promise. :)

Lands' End Canvas

I know, it's been a few days... I've just been trying to work on the blog so it looks better... Not really getting anywhere. Oh, well.
I should have mentioned it Friday, since there is only one day left, but Lands' End Canvas has 40% off one item of your choice. And how cute are these dresses?! They have some pretty cute new things in. It's worth checking out - if you can afford to.
The New Dress Shop

And I would kill for this bag!! LOVE IT!! 40% off $300? I soooo would if I could!

And in my last post, I talked about Lucky Rewards. Well, if you're signed up, I thought I'd mention that they're offering 8% back at Sephora this week.
And also, I looked to see if any of the travel sites were on there, and Hotels.com and Marriott.com were both on there! And that is so awesome, because I use both of those when I'm staying in Seattle. Just another good reason to sign up for that.
Hey, money back is money back. It comes in handy when I do make purchases. :)

Half off 7 For All Mankind + Lucky Rewards!!

Today, HauteLook is running an event with 7 For All Mankind - and even super cute maternity stuff!
Savanah Welt Pocket TrouserSkinny Jodphur JeanRoxanne Skinny Jean

... If you still aren't signed up, you just have to! And/or read about why I love HauteLook!

I've also talked about how much I love Lucky (Magazine) Daily Deals, but I haven't mentioned just how much I love Lucky Rewards. You sign up for Lucky Rewards, and you get money back! And money is money. And I really don't even shop that much - mostly because I'm saving as much money as I can, but I "window shop" online to keep my eye out for things I really want for when they go on sale. So, on top of sales, so, so, so, so very many online stores partner with Lucky Rewards, and you can get 3-12% back! And sometimes, some of your favorites - like Sephora, Nordstrom, anthro, etc., etc., etc. - even double their rewards. But even if you were to shop a lot, this would totally work out so great!
So, take Restaurant.com. They offer $25 certificates for $10. Plus, with Lucky Rewards, you get 12% back! And in the Nashville area, they have certificates for some of the greatest places like Valentino's, Kobe Steaks and Bella Napoli! YUM! If I bought those three right there (which I'm totally thinking about), I would get almost $4 more dollars back!
And I just saw that you can get 3% back from LivingSocial AND Groupon!
... Pretty great, huh? :)

Friday, September 7, 2012

Two great deals today!!

LivingSocial has a $145 eye cream for $25 for the next few days. I definitely can't pass that one up!

And if you are signed up for Lucky Rewards, today the deal is with Oasis - http://oasis.andotherbrands.com
All of their dresses are 40% off today! (Wish I had some money!) Loving these one!! Scuba Skater Dress

Hope you had a great week and have a great weekend!
My trip to Seattle was fantastic! I LOVED it and can't wait to go back (in 40 days - yeah, I'm already counting!)!

Friday, August 31, 2012

Hey, friends! Anthro has an extra 25% off all sale items today! You might as well check 'er out before everything is gone! I saw some pretty cute items like this jacket!!
                                                                 Double Back Jacket

Keep your eye out for some good sales - it is Labor Day weekend after all. Tulle is having a good sale - I like a lot of their clothes. And I went to the mall today (NOT to shop) and from what I could tell, pretty much everyone is having sales - at Express and American Eagle, they were doing 30% off. I just happened to see those signs.
I, personally, rarely find even great things on sale at the mall, maybe it's just not my thing... I always do everything online now...

Let me tell you, as much of a pain as it can be, the best way to hear about sales is through email. A lot of them go to my spam, but I glance over my spam just in case about once a week. I don't really get any emails, though, I rarely get them. You can always set up an email just for frivolous/miscellaneous things if you don't want all that with all your important emails.

Later tonight, I'm going to tell you about my new curling/flat iron! And I LOVE it!!!
And then, I may not get around to it for a few days because I will be in SEATTLE!! Can't wait to tell you about all I see! :)

Extra 40% sale prices... of some of the greatest designer labels!

I just received an email from Bluefly.com about ten minutes ago, and they are having an extra 40% sale - if you are signed up to receive their emails. If I had money, I would be all over that sale - are you kidding me? There is this delicious Tod's bag that I TOTALLY would get... IF I had the money! Granted, it is $1100, and even with an extra 40% - that's still A LOT of money. But still an incredible offer for the bag.
Tod

For someone somewhere, this sale is a dream. So, I thought I would share.

Misc. Sales

Hey, y'all. Yes, again already! :)
I got an email today that Banana Republic, there is a 40% off any full-priced item. And that is in stores or online. AND all aerie bras are 40% off. Well, that is a deal they run often, but I have to say, it's a great deal and I love their bras. And I can't ever find things in "the junior dept" - I know to a lot of people, aerie seems too "young," but they have really good bras.
And Sephora added new things on sale today (I know because I was already on there this week! Ha!). I usually look over their sale items about twice a month. I have gotten some really great products that I would have never tried otherwise from their sales! There is this tinted moisturizer from Ultraflesh that is $17 (half off). The reviews on it look good, and I wanted to try it... But it also sounded great for my mom, and she has a gift card to use, so I recommended it to her.
And of course, you can always return stuff and there are always TONS of samples to choose from!
More on Sephora soon! Can't give all my "secrets" away at once! :)
                                          Sephora

Bloomspot ... my newest favorite!!

There are many great deals websites around; I think Sharing Spree and Living Social are the best. I have used those two, Sweet Jack, and Groupon all on many occasions. Mostly for eating out, I have bought close to 20 deals for just that, ha ha. but I have also bought pretty great items from Groupon Goods, including these awesome exercise pant, the Zaggora HotPants (I paid $39 + $7 s/h - TOTAL SAVINGS of $74! They are typically $103 and shipping, $17.)

Zaggora

If you don't have Sharing Spree, LivingSocial, Sweet Jack, or Groupon, get them! There is always something for everyone!

So, anyways, I am going to visit my boyfriend this weekend, he just took a job in Seattle, and I am so excited. I have never been before! We are both trying to watch our spending at the moment, and I paid for my flight and my hotel (staying at a $195 hotel for $95, and it is seven blocks from Pike Place, so excited!), so I started looking in the Seattle area for deals, looking at Sharing Spree and Living Social daily to see if they had any deals on restaurants (plus, I figured it would gets us into restaurants we wouldn't be able to afford), and then I started Google searches for deals in Seattle, and I came across this deal site that I had never heard of, Bloomspot. So, I checked out the site and... wow. Their deals are really nice and luxurious, the look of the site itself is very classy, and that day, I purchased a "$40 for $20" deal  for one of the restaurants on their site. And a day or two later, there was another restaurant, and a day or two later, there was another restaurant with the same deal, and I bought that, too. And yesterday, I got a $5 dollars off offer from them, so I used it on another restaurant. I could have used it again, if I wanted to, but I didn't want to go overboard... And what if we don't care for one of the three restaurants and we had to eat there twice? Ha ha...
I love this site! Another deal from this last week is a spa that offers waxing services, but it is called sugaring. I had never heard of it before, but it doesn't sound so bad. They use sugar and honey instead of hot wax, and they say it isn't nearly as intense. I didn't buy the deal, but I think I might try to go get my brows there done sometime.
The only catch is that they only offer Bloomspot in Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Boston, San Diego, Houston, Seattle, San Francisco, L.A. New York, and D.C. But awesome if you live there or travel or will be travelling in any of those areas. So check out BloomSpot!

Review : Color Me hair mascara

So, I have been dying to try the colorful ombre look, like Lauren Conrad's. BUT I wasn't sure if I wanted to do permanent color and then, I cut several inches off anyways (it was as long as or longer than LC's) because it was getting so hard to manage (because of thyroid issue - which I'm sure that will come up on here at some point). First of all, for those that do not know me (if there are any reading this), my hair is very dark brown, bordering on black, so the chances of ombre without bleaching or permanent hair color was very slim. My first attempt at this was trying Color Bug from Kevin Murphy, but it got on my clothes and it didn't show up very well. There are many other ways people have been doing it, though... I thought about using pastels, people have also used eyeshadow, and I read where you can buy very powdery pigment, but all of those just seemed like a huge mess. I even tried lightening the lower half of my hair with the blondest non-permanent hair color that I could and there was almost no difference - it was only visible to me.
Then, on Sunday, I was walking around Green Hills with my friend, Emily, and we always stroll into The Cosmetic Market - a local business in the Nashville area. They sell products from some of the most popular beauty lines, as well as offer aesthetic services and spray tanning. It is one of my favorite places! And she and I are wondering around and... I spot them! Tubes of hair mascara! In every color I could want! I bought violet, teal, blue and magenta. And they also have them in natural hair colors, including 2 shades of lighter brown, auburn, and 3 shades of blonde. The natural colors are $10 and the others are $12 each. I thought about trying one of the blonde hair mascaras, but I figured I would use it up in a week. I had some store credit, so it was pretty reasonable. Plus, it would cost that much or more to have it done professionally.
There is another line that carries hair mascara, Sultra, but they only off three colors, and they are $24 - twice as much... But Emily and I then went the mall, and of course, to Sephora, and it turns out, there is twice as much product in Sultra's tube. But I wanted all the different colors, so oh, well. If I'm not over the fad by the time the product runs out, I will try the Sultra's purple color.
... And they have worked pretty well for me. The only one I don't particularly care for is the magenta. I guess you could say it clumps a little. It isn't terrible, but the others have worked much better. My favorites are the violet and the teal - they look so, so awesome! And the violet isn't very noticeable, but it is noticeable enough and works perfectly for my hair. Also, I don't do every strand of hair, I do about a third of my hair. The colors don't stand out too much because of my dark hair color, so I don't feel the need to do all of it. And since I don't mind that the colors don't stand out, I only do the last two-three inches of the strand. It takes me about 15 minutes to do it, and I do get it on your hands, but it comes off my hands fairly easily, and I haven't had any problems with it bleeding. I am careful when I'm applying it so as not to get the color on anything.
And I have no idea why I'm so orange and shiny. Ugh. Ha. Oh, well.

HauteLook

I mentioned the website HauteLook.com in my last post. If you aren't familiar with websites like HauteLook, ideeli, and Gilt, let me introduce you!  HauteLook's website is described as so:"HauteLook is a members-only shopping website offering limited-time sale events with top brands in women's and men's fashion, jewelry and accessories," and also home goods, beauty products, children's clothes and toys, and on and on. And HauteLook is owned by Nordstrom! They have new sales daily and they last for 48 hours, or until the product sells out. And the other two sites, Gilt and ideeli, do about the same, but I only use HauteLook. The other two don't offer as many things as I would buy, mostly because they tend to be a bit more expensive.
They sell all types of styles, low- and high-end labels, anything from ELF Cosmetics to Jessica Simpson and Bebe to Foley & Corrina and Diane von Furstenberg, and so on... I will say, ideeli and Gilt do have Chanel and maybe some even nicer things sometimes, but like I mentioned, even on sale, I can't afford many of the prices.
I have bought from HauteLook numerous times. I bought this classy red pea coat by the line Tulle for $28 last December, and last Wednesday, one of my favorite foundations - from Stila - was over 60% off, but I just don't NEED foundation right now, so I passed. (Plus, I saw it at the Cosmetic Market this weekend on the sale shelves, which probably means they will be doing away with that foundation all-together, so I'm sure I will have more chances to get it soon.). The GREATEST thing I ever bought from HauteLook was my Hobo clutch!! $45!!! And those typically run at least $100. HauteLook generally runs a Hobo sale at least 4-5 times a year. There are several other labels they have a sale for a few times a year.

Here is the link if you would like to sign up:
              http://www.hautelook.com/short/3AmrD

And just in case you are wondering if I spend a lot of time looking for sales and spending money, truth is, I might make a purchase 3 times a year from HauteLook,... but I do look almost daily. And I don't look at everything (on HauteLook). I take 5 minutes out to glance over the brands, and when I open one of the sales, if it isn't in my price range, I don't look. And if it's something I don't need or haven't ever wanted, passing it up is easy for me. I will say - I have found gifts I would have never thought of on there, and obviously, at great prices. Plus, you never knew when a fantastic offer that you can't pass up will come your way!
Hope this is helpful!

Already on to the next blog post! I'm going to review using hair mascara to get the ombre look!

Hello, friends!!

Well, here it is, my first post! And I would like to start out by talking about Lucky Daily Deals. If you are not signed up for them, you are missing out. You don't ever have to purchase, but there are tons of things worth purchasing. I probably buy one of their deals once every 6 weeks or so, not everything is something I would like. Most of the time, it is jewelry, shoes, or clothes, but every once in a while, there is a deal I MUST jump on. Today, it was a ceramic flat/curling iron - it is able to do both. It is usually 165, and today, through Lucky, it was $44. Plus, there was a $13 shipping & handling, but who cares, it was still $110 less than the retail price. And Lucky Daily Deals isn't like HauteLook or Gilt or ideeli, where it is last season's (or last year's) goods, shoes, clothes, bags, makeup, home goods, etc. for a much cheaper price - Lucky deals are current. And I look forward to that email every day.
Oh, and the sales always end at 12 a.m. Eastern.

http://www.luckymag.com/about/deal-of-the-day
There is the link to look at the deals for the last several days (they only run them M-F). They also have great deals monthly in their magazine, called Lucky Breaks, and those are also listed on the website.

www.numeproducts.com/shop/hair-straighteners/silhouette
And there is the link if you would like to take a look at today's deal. Can't wait til it comes to the door!

The best deal I ever got was a Boots No. 7 value set - it was about a month ago. I started using their beauty serum about 2 or 3 years ago, and it's normally about $24. It is a "cult" product in the UK. Their eye cream is about $23. One day, the Lucky Deal was a collection with those two items and their body serum (which I didn't even really care about before I purchased it, but it's nice) for half off of $49.50! So, I bought TWO! No shipping, no tax! It was pretty awesome!

Sorry if I have sounded too quick or inarticulate tonight. I plan on telling you more about the deals I come across, as well as telling you about my favorite makeup products! Talk soon!

Next time, I will talk about HauteLook. I love them, too, and purchase often. If you aren't signed up, you should. They have pretty fabulous deals, as well.
